I really wanted to find some great authentic Haitian food and Rebel hit the spot. Some of the food is presented in tiny little cast iron pots giving the plate a rustic and original presentation. The dishes we tried were the akra, two different shrimp dish and the rebel goat which was magnifique. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and had no complaints about the food or service both were great. The only setback for us personally was the atmosphere, the decor and quaint spot is nice a great vibe but unfortunately we had to eat and run because even though it was a week day and early it was extremely noisy and loud. I know this spot is a vibe and unique but I didn’t expect the turn up to be that much at that time which is why I chose to go earlier in the first place. On top of that, there just had to be that one large table of patrons treating the place like a club so we couldn’t even hear ourselves while attempting to hold a conversation it was just too much for a weekday. I will definitely eat here again but next time It will be to go :)

Rebel is authentic Haitian Cuisine right in the heart of LES. We had a little bit of everything and nothing disappointed us. The servers were awesome and the DJ was superb. The drinks matched the vibe and were well crafted. We went on Mother’s Day and highly recommend getting reservations before going.

The food... omg..the food was very good. We did not wait long for it, too. It was a packed night, but the service was excellent. We ate the Tour of Haiti with Plantain, Goat and Beef, it was hot and fresh and well seasoned. The drinks were on point. The bartender was on point! She really was the best. I'm definitely coming back here again.🍾🍸😋 I highly recommend you come here!

I had the pleasure of celebrating a 70th birthday at this wonderful Haitian restaurant with a group of 15 guests, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment we stepped inside, the atmosphere was alive with the vibrant sounds of authentic Haitian music, setting the stage for a memorable evening. The highlight of our visit was, without a doubt, the food. The menu boasted a variety of authentic Haitian dishes that left our taste buds dancing with delight. From mouthwatering griot to barbon shrimp every bite was a flavorful journey through Haitian cuisine. The use of traditional spices and seasonings truly captured the essence of Haitian flavors, and it was evident that the chefs took pride in their craft. The atmosphere was perfect for a celebration. The spacious dining area allowed us to move around comfortably, and when the music started, it was hard to resist the urge to dance. The staff were incredibly accommodating, making sure our party of 15 felt right at home. The warm and friendly service added to the overall positive experience. Our 70th birthday celebration was made all the more memorable thanks to this Haitian restaurant. It's a place where authentic Haitian food, great music, and a lively atmosphere come together to create a truly special dining experience. If you're looking for a taste of Haiti and a night of celebration, this restaurant should be at the top of your list.

Service here is very friendly. Staff recommended the stewed conch and stewed goat. Both were delicious. I really like the stewed goat. It was so tender; fell off the bone; full of flavor. The black rice was so good and the sweet plantains were a nice ending to the meal. 10/10 would come again! :)

I'm glad that we came here earlier in the evening as my friends and I pretty much had the restaurant to ourselves for a while. Service was fantastic; our waiter was very attentive and checked in frequently to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was amazing, for the most part. We shared three apps that I highly recommend ~ the akra, the chiktay aranso, and the barbancourt shrimp. The main issue was with the rice that came with our entrees; it was very dry. My friend got the legume and, unfortunately, wasn't a fan. I trust her on the cook as she is Haitian. The griot was good but a little heavy, and the conch/lumbe that my friend got was amazing. The portion sizes were great, and I loved the dishes and pots everything was served in.

Went there after a fashion show during fashion week with a group of friends and we had a blast. Food was great. Every dish I tried were flavorful and fresh. Better than any other Haitian restaurant I’ve tried in NY.
